I used to just get free contact cases every time I'd get a new yearly supply of disposable contact lenses. My eye doctor's office would give me a few boxes of multi-purpose solution, and in the boxes with those would be new cases, the typical kind in white and green with the screw-on caps. Now they've started just mailing my contact lenses to me, meaning I not only don't get the free solution, I also don't get the free cases. I lost the lid off mine, and used the case my husband stopped using once he abandoned his contact lenses. That case had wide hinged lids and they wore out so badly, one lid completely broke off.

This created the need for me to actually buy a contact lens case for the first time. Shopping at Super Target I found that the types with the screw-on caps, aka the boring kind, were nearly twice as expensive as the fashionable ones that were offered.
