Sheer Cover Review: I love love this makeup!!!
Well I must say I was very not interested in buying makeup from an informercial. That said this sheer cover was pulling at me to try. Being a black girlPosted in Opinions | No Comments »

I started using bare escentuals about 6 years ago and cannot imagine using anything else. I was skeptical at first because I had very acne prone skin and blemishes that would be hard to cover up. I thought to myself "there is no way a powder can cover all this!" I tried some of my sisters and have never turned back!! LOVE IT! Now I use all of their products including eye shadow!

If your face is severely oily this may be strong for you. I found that I have too sensitive skin (but very acne prone) for this product and prefer the foaming face wash instead that acts as a 2-in-1 and removes make-up as well

OK so if you've read any of my makeup reviews over years, you know that I'm totally fed up with trying to find a good eyeshadow. They always look good at the store but then I get them home and they're too light, too dark, no staying power, or (and this is my personal favorite, NOT) they have glimmer, shimmer, glitter, or whatever you want to call it.
Well I'm happy to report that I have FINALLY found a great eyeshadow - FLIRT! Dreamy Eyes Eyeshadow from Kohls.
Like I said, I've been searching high and low for an eyeshadow that shows up on my lids but is not too dark, one that has reasonably good staying power, and most importantly it cannot have any shimmer or glitter whatsoever. FLIRT! Dreamy Eyes is this eyeshadow. There are a few shades that have some glitter in them, but Kohls has testers out so customers can try them on their hand to see which shades work best.
I was able to find several shades in just the colors I was looking for that do not contain any glitter at all. ...

I am a conditioner junkie. I buy and buy and buy conditioners because I have a problem with dying my hair a lot ( I have to I have a weird job) and it becomes very dry and gross and I want to shave it all off. I've used a lot of in the shower hair conditioning treatments but none quite like this one. First of all it isn't creamy but very clear and almost looks like shampoo but feels like antibacterial hand gel. It has a nice light fragrance as well.
The directions indicate to shampoo hair, remove excess water apply the product and rinse with warm water followed by cool water.
The product claims it.."Targets damaged areas to MOISTURIZE WITHOUT ADDED WEIGHT. The CLEAN, Clear formula SMOOTHES FLYAWAYS without making my hair flat"
Now after rinsing the product out of my hair according to the instructions on the bottle my hair felt very very smooth in the shower which is a nice feeling for my hair which never feels smooth. It was also incredibly easy to comb after I towel dried it...

OK I'm the first to admit that I occasionally love to indulge on ridiculously priced salon or specialty hair products. But the older I get, the more I've come to realize that drugstore stuff is really just as good.
Case in point, Suave Professionals Moisturizing Almond & Shea Butter shampoo. Yep. I've always been a huge fan of Suave anyway so when I saw ads in my paper for this product I had to give it a try. Plus the pretty green bottle drew me in as I walked past the hair care aisle at my local Walgreens.
Suave Professionals Moisturizing Almond & Shea Butter is a really good shampoo for me. My hair is straight and really oily at the scalp so I try to avoid conditioning the scalp area often. This shampoo is so moisturizing that I don't have to condition at all if I don't want. I can just wash, rinse, towel dry, and still get a wide tooth comb right thru it with ease afterward. I have extremely healthy and straight hair though, so your mileage may vary. It also smells fantastic...

After ordering my first installation of bareMinerals, I was a little skeptical about how I would look as natural as the models that I had seen on the infomercial.
Once I had received the order and watched the very helpful DVD I wasn't exactly convinced that I was ready to give up my liquid eyeliner or my pencil. I put my bareMinerals on with my old eye liner, and it still didn't look right... I reviewed the DVD again and followed the directions down to the letter. I looked incredible and natural.
I have friends using this Liner Shadow that don't subscribe to or purchase bareMinerals.
It is especially helpful when you need something a little extra to blend in false eyelashes.
I recommend this to anyone who is looking for the natural look.

I'm not an all-natural cosmetics girl -- if the 'natural' product doesn't work as well as the conventional one, or costs a whole lot more, I'll go conventional every time. This is one of those rare natural products that works better than the conventional ones.
I bought a trial size of this (30 ml, or about 1 oz.) for about $2 at Target for a trip. I'm going to buy a full-size one as soon as the trial one runs out. I like to avoid parabens when I can -- this product is paraben free, smells great (very much like baby powder, I think), is non-greasy, and provides long-lasting hydration with healthy ingredients like avocado and olive oils, carrot juice, and shea butter. It's perfect for moisturizing dry hands anytime, or locking in moisture right after a bath or shower.
A lot of body butters are heavy and greasy ... fortunately, this isn't. It feels slightly greasy for just a few seconds, then almost immediately sinks into the skin, leaving it perfectly smooth. Considering the quality...

I've tried probably 30 different mascaras, if not more, over the years, but I keep coming back to this one. Even $20 mascaras can't beat it. I'm an Estee Lauder junkie, and this is better than any of theirs, and about 1/3 the price.
Full 'n Soft is perfect for those who just need volumizing, not lengthening ... it goes on easily, and removes easily, too, with just soap and water. I find I have less lash loss with this one vs. other mascaras. Best of all, it is perhaps the most clump-free mascara I've ever found. You can apply just one coat for a more natural look, or apply multiple coats to 'build' more volume. I've even put on one coat for work, then, in the evening, applied a second or third over it and still not had clumping. For maximum volume, move the wand back and forth horizontally to 'grab' the lashes a little as you move from root to tip.
Even the professional makeup artist who did my makeup for my wedding said this was one of her favorite mascaras.
I do find the...
